No matter where you live now, if you have lived in a Winter State at some time, February brings fond memories of beautiful winter days. You don’t remember the dirty snow or the bare branched trees as much as you remember the bright white, fluffy, beautiful snow sparkling in the sunlight. Our family lived in Minnesota for a few years. There was lots of snow – for a long time. One winter it was below zero for an entire month. There were lots of challenging times but mostly we remember and talk about the fun times – like cross country skiing around the park circle at night with the neighborhood dogs chasing behind. Those silly dogs loved a deep snow. They would jump off the porch and disappear under the snow! A couple seconds later they’d come jumping up and disappear again. Your heart would stop for a second thinking “maybe they’ll suffocate! We’d better dig them out quick!” But a second later they’d come jumping up out of the snow. We worried about them. They made us laugh. They entertained us. They showed us dogs love to play and have fun, just like kids – just like the kids in all of us! They enrich our lives, they keep us young!
