It’s back to school for many kids tomorrow. Although many have already started back to school, it’s the unofficial end of summer. Yesterday a couple of neighborhood families were packing up to take their now collegian off to new adventures. Valerie is leaving home for the first time. Neighbor kids were on hand to see the family loading the car and were worried about her Corgi, Patches. Patches is well known to all of them from the dog park, the jogging path, the pet parades and food collections for the local shelter. Was she taking Patches with her? (no) Who was going to take care of him? (her Dad and their other 2 dogs) Could they come and visit him (of course!) Could they bring him treats like they always did? (As long as they are healthy treats.) Will he keep coming to the dog park? (Yes, but maybe not as often.) When will you be back? (in six weeks for a visit, you can come and see him then too).
