Fall brings lots of changes: in the weather, in the time, in our schedules, in the kind of clothes we wear and the activities that we do. There’s a different smell in the air, maybe it’s the change in temperature of the air, or the air mixing with the decaying leaves and ripened foods being harvested. Fall is definitely an exciting time for us – and our pets! Our dogs can’t get enough sniffing of everything in their path. On the other hand, they ignore the change of the time on our clocks and continue to demand to be let out at the same time each morning. Some are loosing coat as their heavy winter coat comes in and need more bushing and grooming. There’s the excitement of meeting the new kids and people coming to the house as our kids participate on new sports teams and bring home new friends from school. The dogs assume their guard dog positions and have to meet and inspect all of them and learn they’re OK.
