The horses down in the meadow are starting to feel the excitement of the kids getting ready for the neighborhood Halloween Party and Horse Parade. They have been measured and groomed, braided and brushed. They have had fittings for their costumes and today is the party! The day is warm and sunny, with no wind. There will be games, races and lunch before the parade.
Later – Everything was a great success at the horse party! Little Nugget, the pony, was the fastest racer on the obstacle course until someone dropped a carrot and he came to a complete stop on his second run.
Little Bo Peep won the costume parade with her horse in sheep’s clothing! Bo, who carried a sheep staff, was dressed in yards and yards of beautiful tulle and netting. Her horse was covered in big white cotton balls. They made a great presentation! Basket, a mustang, came in second dressed in black and white stripes as an escaped prisoner. He was escorted back to jail for being an apple thief by a uniformed police woman. Now the kids can start thinking about the costumes for trick or treating with their dogs!
