Merry Christmas Town

Anticipating Christmas is so exciting! Our pets can feel our moods and they get excited too! So before things get too out of hand, check over our list of things that can cause a problem for our pets during the holidays. There are lots of things we need to protect them from at Christmas. Keep your pets safe this holiday.

If your pet chews on anything he or she sees: Make sure extra electric cords or extension cords are hidden.

Keep wrapped presents out of reach of chewers.

Make sure the tree is in a sturdy stand so if a climbing cat or a sleepy dog that decides his favorite napping space is under it, they can’t knock it over. Never let your pet drink the Christmas tree water, make sure they have their own fresh water.

Remove: Tinsel, glass ornaments they can break or chew, fragile or delicate ornaments, small tree lights and

ribbons they can swallow.

Chocolate candy or small hard candies they can choke on.

Mistletoe, Lilies and Holly are poisonous. Poinsettias and pine needles may cause irritation.

Candles that are lit should be kept in high places pets can’t reach.

Gum or anything with artificial sweetners, especially xylitol, can harm pets

Enjoy their silly antics during the holidays and keep their safety in mind.  Merry Christmas!
