Black Cat Appreciation Day

You might wBlack Catonder why only black cats get a special appreciation day. It’s because in literature and folk lore black cats are associated with superstition, bad luck, and maybe even evil. We’ve all heard it’s bad luck if a black cat walks under a ladder and that witches have black cats. So Black Cat Appreciation Day is to remind you that BLACK cats are just as warm and fuzzy as a cat of any color! AND they need to be adopted because many people are “superstitious” that they might mean “bad luck.” Be confident that, like any color cat, they are wonderful pets!

Our family can personally vouch for black cats! Our daughter picked out the only black cat in a litter when she was only 2 years old! She wanted to name her Mittens – but she had no Mittens. So the family finally agreed on Cinder Mittens. She lived to be 19 years old and was a family favorite! Our black cat lived with us longer than any other pet. We thought that was very Good Luck!

Adopt a Black Cat – or a Black Dog (they also have very low adoption rates)! Oh, one more thing, they are a little hard to take good pictures of, so take lots of them.
