Horses Rule This Month

The family hasMariposa 912 4 horses right now. The homeland has space for only two horse stalls so there is a little bit of musical stalls going on right now. One horse is an Andalusian, a beautiful animal but her personality is just a little high spirited for our casual unexperienced family – which includes only one expert horsewoman! Andalusians, also known as PREs, the Spanish acronym for Pura Raza Española or Pure Spanish Horse, are known for being, intelligent, sensitive and athletic. They love dressage and jumping. Our experience is that they also form close relationships with other animals, especially horses and dogs. She is all that – translation: Drama Queen. Noisy, stubborn and not afraid to tell you she’s unhappy about something. That would include when it’s time to load into the horse trailer. She’s not going unless her current stall mate is too. Or, if he’s being taken some place, she’s going too! It’s like having extra kids – that are bigger and stronger and noisier than all the kids put together – but still an important part of the family! They give us “something to talk about,” lots of work to do and astonishing new understanding of the horse world!
