Horse #2 – Mustang

The second familBiscuit Ready to go Ridingy horse is a mustang that was used for several years as a work horse on a farm. He’s much more laid back and calm than the Andalusian and is willing to do trail rides with no excitement involved. He’s very touchy-feely. He loves to come and nuzzle his nose in your neck and have you rub the blaze on his nose.

He’s perfect for a 10 year old learning to ride and get acquainted with horses in general. Nothing spooks him on the meadow trails which are full of burrowing owls that can easily surprise and spook some horses.

He was recently moved down to another house with an extra stall right on the meadow. The family there has only one horse now, a mini horse. The two horses have become good friends. We miss having him at the house. If anyone leaves the house they drive by to see how he’s doing. The new family has also become very attached to our horse. In fact, they like him so much the dad built a special little shed just to hold his hay, feed and tack!  It has hand drawn, wooden cut outs of horses over the door! Oh, how sweet that they are so enamored with our pretty horse! We’re thinking maybe it’s time to bring him back to the house and send the 3rd horse down to the meadow! I think we’re jealous – or maybe we just miss having him at the house! He’s part of our family!
