Pets & Celebrities

Betty White n dogsThe other day I was talking to one of our company’s customers. She asked me why we didn’t use celebrities to advertise our products. There are a lot of reasons, of carefully thought out reasons, but it reminded me how thankful we are for the many celebs who do donate and commit their time and passion – not to being paid to represent a product – but to saving pets lives by actively supporting shelters and rescues who save pets, or bringing attention to foundations that do. Many of them have formed their own foundations, others support existing foundations – both are needed.

The celebs I’ve come in contact with have been committed to what they were doing and genuinely loved pets. Some worked behind the scenes doing anonymous tasks without press releases or publicity. Others put their “star power” out there and let their name work to build awareness while they support the organization with money.  Some can add so much awareness and so many donations to a cause, that they just supply their presence for support. No matter what, it helps save animal’s lives and we’re thankful for that.

You can’t mention celebrities and pets without thinking of the tremendous awareness that Betty White has created through her lifelong commitment to pets and The Morris Foundation. And if pets are responsible for her smile, we thank every one of them too!
