Days When Everything Goes Wrong

Yesterday was, well challenging. I’m sure you’ve had those days too. An unexpected request for help takes 2 hours that you didn’t have. At work, someone needs a detail from 2012 and they just “know” you can help them run it down. Daughter is going on vacation in 3 hours and needs your help finding a new swimsuit for an 11 year old (it’s Novemeber! not exactly swim suit sale time) – like she hasn’t known this for 6 weeks?! It’s been one thing after another and all of a sudden you find yourself getting home at 10 pm, tired, crabby and not wanting to talk or rehash the day with anyone! Then you open the front door and there’s Jake, your Westie, looking up at you, tail wagging furiously! He doesn’t growl and ask where you’ve been. He’s not yelling that there’s nothing to eat. He hasn’t turned out the lights and gone to bed! He’s just happy to see you! You start petting and talking and hugging and the stress goes away and you calm down about 30 degrees. Thank goodness for our pets. That’s just one reason kids need to grow up loving pets. Be an example and they’ll be taken care of by their pet when they need it too.
