We focus on the benefits pets bring to our lives but today we bring to your attention more RECALLS on pet food. Our pets deserve safe food just as our children deserve nutritious, safe food.

What’s going on in the pet industry?  Two recent recalls announced – from BIG companies that should have extraordinary quality control!

Here’s how a “voluntary recall” works. Usually on a Friday, The FDA notifies a manufacturer that they are going to recall one of the company’s products due to a violation. The company has the weekend (or maybe 2 days if it’s during the week) to issue a “voluntary” recall before the FDA announces it for them. Most try to save face by saying it’s voluntary.

BLUE BUFFALO
“November 25, 2015 — Blue Buffalo Company is voluntarily recalling one lot of its Cub Size Wilderness Wild Chews Bones because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.”
