There are lots of ways that we incorporate our love of pets with Howl-O-Ween activities. From decorating or carving our pumpkins like cats, dogs, bunnies, etc. to dressing up like tiger kittens, to dressing up our pets – they are part of our family so they’re part of our holidays. A couple of them get pretty nervous about all the door bell ringing and kids shouting Trick or Treat! So they get their beds moved into one of the rooms that aren’t being used during that time, the door gets closed and the radio or TV gets turned on to give them some familiar sounds that hopefully will reduce their stress. If Dad or Grandma have time they may also join the pets and do some petting and stroking to keep them calm.
